Corona Fishing and Gift Certificates!

2020 is coming to an end, and what a year it has been. With a pile of cancellations in the busy spring, to a wave of fishermen throughout the rest of the year, it has definitely been an adventure. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone, on behalf of myself and my family, for all of the incredible support you have shown us this year. Without customers like all of you, I simply wouldn’t be able to do what I love for a living. We are fortunate to provide a safe and fun activity that everyone can enjoy during these strange times. I am so happy to see more people getting outside and enjoying the outdoors this year than ever before, and if there is one good thing that will come from this pandemic, it is that everyone is rediscovering nature and the wonders it can provide.

Now for a report…

For nearly all of 2020, the Corps of Engineers have been working on lowering the lake levels back down to their respective power pools in order to regulate flood stages and water storage for the future. Both Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes are officially below their respective tops of power pool. We have seen a significant drop in overall flows, with considerable periods of low water throughout the day. You can fish high water tactics in the mornings, and switch over to midges and small nymphs in the afternoon and have an absolute blast. Having options like this all in a day is one reason our fisheries are so much fun and impressive. With hardly any crowds on any section of river, this is the time of year to come and fish in solitude. It truly is one of my favorite times to be on the water. Midges, micro caddis, and of course egg patterns are staples for this time of year, with some solid streamer fishing on the cloudy days during the morning pushes of water from the dams.

Stay tuned for some exciting new updates on our website in the next couple of weeks as well, as we plan to add something really cool that so many customers have been asking for!
